Newport Residences Sells 57% of Units at Launch Weekend | Strong CBD Demand
City Developments Limited’s freehold Newport Residences in District 2 saw solid buyer interest on its launch weekend, with 140 of the 246 units – about 57 per cent – snapped up by 5 pm on February 1, 2026. Excluding the exclusive super penthouse, homes were priced at an average of S$3,370 per square foot.
This take-up rate places Newport ahead of recent CBD launches. For instance, One Bernam recorded a 23 per cent take-up at debut, and Sky Everton sold around 40 per cent of its units at launch. Both those projects have since fully sold.
Prices at Newport started from S$1.298 million for a one-bedroom apartment, S$1.968 million for a two-bedroom, S$3.238 million for a three-bedroom, and up to S$8.28 million for a four-bedroom premium unit. While the developer didn’t break down sales by configuration, it noted that one-, two- and three-bedroom homes proved especially popular.
Buyers were predominantly local, with about 82 per cent Singaporeans and 15 per cent permanent residents from markets such as Indonesia, China, Malaysia and Canada.
